In-the-Game

In-the-Game.

Skills must be in-the-game to be involved in game-play. In-the-game means the token is sitting face-up on one of the clear distance markers. There are two clear distance markers: (1) the line-of-scrimmage marker used for the offense skill tokens, and (2) the first-down-line marker used for the defense skill tokens.

Skills that are on-the-bench, or have been discarded, or were not drafted do not impact the game-play. Select skills from your bench to go in-the-game. Each team will always place one game skill and one possession skill in-the-game at the start of each possession. You must have one game skill and one possession skill in-the-game at all times. These four skills will remain unchanged for that entire possession.

PLAY SKILLS:
There may also be one play skill placed in-the-game by the offense and/or one by the defense prior to any given play (before the Fliip for a play and before the kick-dice-roll for a kick).

SPECIAL SKILLS:
If you are using the special AUDIBLE and NO HUDDLE skills then the offense may also have one of these skills in-the-game alongside their game and possession skills.

END of POSSESSION:
Offense game skills go back to the BENCH when your possession switches from offense to defense. Defense game skills go back to the BENCH when your possession switches from defense to offense. Possession skills are discarded at the end of their possession. Play skills are discarded after one use.

FORMATIONS:
Each clear distance marker has four circular recesses to accommodate one game, possession, play, and special skill token. You can arrange your skills in any formation you prefer within these four recesses. The formation has no impact on the Fliip or skill outcomes. Do not place skills in the over-lapping circular recesses, which are reserved for the DOWN token.
